Wohnung "Tobias"
Im Rahmen des Scientist-in-Residence-Programms lädt die Stadt Salzburg Wissenschaftler:innen und Autor:innen ein, eine Zeit lang mit Salzburger Wissenseinrichtungen zu kooperieren. Für die Dauer ihres Aufenthalts steht ihnen eine Wohnung in Altstadtnähe zur Verfügung. Die Unterkunft befindet sich im 5. Stock in einem Wohnhaus im Stadtteil Riedenburg. Das rd. 35 m² Apartment ist möbliert und voll eingerichtet.
Der Pelzhändler Ferdinand Tobias vererbte 2000 die Wohnung der Stadt Salzburg. Gemäß seinem Wunsch, das Apartment für künstlerische Zwecke zu nutzen, wurde die Verwaltung der Wohnung der Abteilung für Kultur, Bildung und Wissen übertragen. 2006 wurde das Scientist-in-Residence-Programm ins Leben gerufen. Als Ergänzung zum erfolgreichen Artist-in-Residence-Programm im Künstlerhaus sollte ein neues Angebot für die Wissenschaft und Literaturszene geschaffen werden. Seither bereichern Forscher:innen und Literat:innen aus aller Welt die Wissensstadt Salzburg.
Apartment "Tobias"
As part of the Scientist-in-Residence program, the city of Salzburg invites scientists and authors for a certain period of time to cooperate with Salzburg knowledge institutions. An apartment near the historic center is available to you for the duration of your stay. The accommodation is on the 5th floor in a residential building in the Riedenburg district. The apartment with approx. 35 m² is fully furnished and equipped.
In 2000, the fur trader Ferdinand Tobias inherited a small apartment in the Riedenburg district of the city of Salzburg. In accordance with his desire to use the apartment for artistic purposes, the management of the apartment was entrusted to the Department of Culture, Education and Knowledge.
In 2006, the Scientist-in-Residence program was initiated. In addition to the successful artist-in-residence program in the Künstlerhaus, a new opportunity for the scientific and literary scene was to be created. Since then, researchers and writers from all over the world have enriched the knowledge city of Salzburg.
